Sankey Tank
A quiet 1880s lake in residential Malleshwaram, two separate tracks so the joggers and the walkers don't argue.
why we keep going,
Two parallel paths: cobbled walking on one side, running on the other. The split makes the loop feel calmer than it should.
Yoga and laughter groups gather at the open exercise zone by sunrise. Show up at 6am if you want the lake to yourself.
Hours are tight. Morning 6 to 10, evening 4 to 7. Plan around it or stand outside a locked gate.
local context
Built in 1882 by Col. Richard Sankey of the Madras Sappers to feed Bangalore's water supply; the residential gates still close midday.
