20,000 works across six departments: modern art, photography, living traditions, popular culture, pre-modern art, textiles and design. The breadth is the point.
The Matthew & Ghosh building is half the case for visiting. Go up by floor, take the auditorium-side stairs back down.
Cafe on site, library open to the public, store on the way out. Plan three hours minimum.

Founded by collector Abhishek Poddar; opened to the public in February 2023 in a 44,000-square-foot building designed by Matthew & Ghosh.
